Based on extensive process-time simulations, Jungheinrich developed a customised logistics solution to automate the material flow of SKF. Now, 16 driverless electric order pickers of type EKX 516a ensure greater productivity in a new narrow-aisle warehouse with 18 aisles.
DSV, a Danish transport and logistics service provider with worldwide operations, has built a new 16,000-square-metre logistics centre together with Jungheinrich at its site in Vestby south of Oslo. The new building consists of a fully automated warehouse with 35,000 pallet locations, operated by nine driverless narrow-aisle trucks of the EKX 516a type from Jungheinrich.

The Jungheinrich EKXa can operate as part of either a closed, high-performance system or a flexible, open system. In an open system, a 360° safety sensor is used to ensure maximum safety for humans, machines and goods.
The EKXa Jungheinrich mobile robot can reach a lift height of up to 13,000 mm and sets benchmarks in the field of automated VNA storage. With a capacity of up to 1,600 kg and a travel speed of up to 12 km/h (unladen), it guarantees efficient automation in your storage area.
